The focal point of the Arboretum is the Visitor Centre where there is parking for 160 cars and two coaches.

4000 tons of earth was removed from the hillside to accommodate the building. The roof was insulated with soil and then grassed over to blend back into the hillside, making the whole building as unobtrusive as possible.

Visitors walking over the hill looking onto the oasis of pools and colour can only see a shallow dome protruding out of the ground. This unique building won the CLA award (Country Land & Business Association) for the best rural building in England and Wales in 1999 and provides wonderful views across the big pool as well as being environmentally friendly.

The Visitor Centre contains a gift shop (stocked by Jinney Ring Craft Centre), a quiet room, toilets, restaurant and kitchens.

All our food is prepared and cooked on the premises and we are pleased to serve our own Herefordshire beef, lamb and pork. Refreshments and home made cakes are served all day between 11am - 5pm and lunch is served between 12pm - 2pm. A full range of food is served - please see the sample menu on this page, we also cater for coach parties, Daytime Groups, Private Evenings Parties, Christmas Lunches, Afternoon Tea, Private Daytime Bookings on Mondays and Tuesdays (when we are closed to the public) and Wedding Receptions.

We also welcome School Groups and take private bookings for our Gazebo. For further information on bookings please go to the Information Page and click on the relevant information you require.

Picnic Areas
You are most welcome to bring picnics and we have a map in the Visitor Centre highlighting picnic tables in the Arboretum. We request that picnics are not eaten in the Visitor Centre or on the terrace which is reserved for restaurant customers.
