Bodenham Through the Seasons - Spring
A time of bulbs, blossom, unfurling leaves and rising spirits as the
growing year begins. Camelias, Flowering Cherries and Magnolias
vie with the colourful Rhododendrons and Azaleas.
The unusual, curved Laburnum Tunnel is at its best in late May
or June. At the same time, the Handkerchief Tree (Davidia involvcrata
vilmorinii) displays the white bracts which have resulted in its other
common names, the Dove Tree and the Ghost Tree.
In spring, the white or pink flowers of the Crab Apples, Whitebeams
and Rowans contrast with the yellow-green flowers of Norway
Maple and the English Oak.
