The Farm...

The arboretum is set within a working farm which has a herd of pedigree Hereford suckler cows and calves, and a flock of north country mule ewes. The farm is in pasture, and grass is mown in the middle of the year for hay and silage for winter feed. There is also a collection of unusual purebred poultry and waterfowl with chicks in abundance in Spring and Summer.

Many visitors, particularly children, enjoy meeting the animals in their natural setting. Spring is a favourite time for visitors with new-born lambs bounding in the fields and cows with their calves at foot.

"Great to see people who care about the environment"
S.Peters, Telford.
